Not usually. Once you’re placed on a PIP or any type of performance improvement tracking, your team leaders have let you know that they have a negative perception of your work. It’s probably time to start looking for another job.
While it’s not impossible to overcome a PIP, it can cause damage to your reputation that is difficult to overcome. There is little you can do to fight the perception that you are not meeting expectations even if you start doing everything right while on a PIP.
Whatever the cause or fairness of the PIP, the best course of action is to use the PIP period to update your skills, work on your resume, and apply for other jobs at a different company. A clean slate is unbeatable for a fresh start both mentally and for your career reputation.
